US Customs

US Customs Now Open
Prior to opening in June, 2025, international flights had to stop at another airport to clear Customs before returning to the Vero Beach Regional Airport. Now that the Customs facility is complete, you are able to fly directly into VRB, which increases safety, prevents low altitude flights, reduces noise created by additional flights, and enhances the overall flying experience.
Pilot Procedures
- Taxi up to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility adjacent to Corporate Air, Inc. (FBO)
- Proceed to the Customs processing area for clearing.
- Once the clearing process has been completed, proceed to the Lobby/Post Waiting/Pay Station.
- After user fees have been paid, you will be directed to your aircraft, if departing, or vehicle if the flight terminates in Vero Beach.
International Trash Removal
All PICs MUST adhere to the following guidelines:
NEVER PLACE INTERNATIONAL GARBAGE ON THE RAMP – NEVER!
- Do not remove international garbage from the aircraft until you have spoken with a U.S. Customs Officer or foreign agent directly;
- Tell them you have garbage to remove and would like to know the proper procedure for the removal at their location;
- Do not close the aircraft door until the regulated garbage is properly removed from the aircraft and you have checked all aircraft compartments for international garbage. Closing the aircraft door signals to Customs that you have completed the inbound process with their office and intend to depart;
- In some locations, international trash removal is arranged with the FBO. The international Department will advise when this is the case.
Please note that trash removal requirements vary from port to port, so it is critical that you not remove anything from the aircraft without the knowledge or consent of the clearing Customs Officer.
International garbage removal resulting from flights into the U.S. are VERY strictly regulated. Regulated garbage removal violations are enforced by the CVPAS with HIGH DOLLAR FINES. If you need guidance on the proper method for regulated garbage removal, you can reference 7 CFR 330.400 and 9 CFR 94.5. If you are not 100% clear on the process, ask the Custom’s Officer, and/or FBO staff for the correct method for disposal at their location.
